The role and importance of regulating valves in the system

Regulating valves are essential in regulating systems and are an important component of industrial automation systems, known as the "hands and feet" of production process automation. As shown in Figure l-1

Pneumatic control valve (also known as pneumatic actuator) is an automatic actuator that uses compressed air as its power source. It has the characteristics of simple structure, reliable operation, stable performance, low price, easy maintenance, fire and explosion prevention, etc. It can not only be used with pneumatic regulating instruments and pneumatic unit combination instruments, but also can be matched with electric regulating instruments and electric unit combination instruments through the composition of the automatic regulating system in Figure 1-1 of the electric pneumatic converter or the electric pneumatic valve locator. It is widely used in industrial sectors such as chemical, petroleum, metallurgy, power plants, and textiles.

Due to the simple structure of regulating valves, they often go unnoticed, which is worth noting. Regulating valves are directly installed on process pipelines under harsh conditions such as high temperature and pressure, deep freezing, extreme toxicity, flammability, explosiveness, permeability, crystallization, strong corrosion, and high viscosity. Their quality directly affects the quality of the system. If the selection or maintenance is improper, problems may occur. For example, some regulating circuits are unstable and keep oscillating. If the selection is improved, the regulating quality will be greatly improved after the linear characteristic spool is changed to the logarithmic characteristic spool or the flow direction is changed. For example, in some adjustment processes, continuous oscillation may occur not due to excessive or insufficient proportionality of the regulator, but rather due to excessive dry friction of the valve packing box, which makes the action very inflexible. For example, leakage of regulating valves can cause pollution in the factory area and even lead to accidents. Therefore, the role of regulating valves should be emphasized, and maintenance and upkeep should be strengthened.
